We have owned standard poodles for 30 years, our first being a rescue. At that time we had seven children at home who gave this one standard all the attention that any dog could have. He was very intelligent, brave and protective of the children. Some of our best stories about our dogs are the "Percy" stories. Thus began our love of the standard poodle. In time, as Percy aged, we wanted another white standard, but one that would not be too dominant for an older dog. There were not any white standard breeders in our area, so we ultimately ended up calling every breeder from Chicago to New York to find a white male standard poodle, ready to go. This was to be our anniversary present. Finally, through Wendell Sammett, we acquired a white son of champion Alekai Aphrodite and champion Puttencove Presentation. He was bought as a pet, but he was so beautiful that we thought it would be nice to show him at a dog show. What did we know? We met a woman from a local dog club who told us they had training classes to teach people how to show their dog. So off we went to training class. Having never been to a dog show, we had no idea what we were doing. The president of the local poodle club was at this class and immediately took an interest in us, especially when he learned of the breeding that was on our dog. He signed us up for membership in the Greater Pittsburgh Poodle Club and the rest, as they say, is history.

We bred our first litter in 1982 and have finished championships on thirteen white standards and three silvers, with more on the way. We're still members of the Greater Pittsburgh Poodle Club, although not as active as we have been in the past, having held, between the two us, every officer's position.
